Irene found me on Instagram through a random giveaway, and though she didn’t win, she decided she wanted to fly me out for her wedding in California! We quickly became friends and were talking almost everyday either about her ideas for the wedding, her dress options, or just funny memes we found. Everything about their day was absolutely beautiful. It took place at the most stunning venue – Aliso Viejo by Wedgewood Weddings with a view overlooking the country club/golf course. Their bridal party was so much fun – everyone was so sweet, inviting and filled with laughs! The ceremony was held during sunset, soooo dreamy. The next day, we took their bridal portraits on the beach and then they treated us to shabu for dinner. I’m so happy these strangers turned into lifelong friends.

“How does one even begin to describe the incredible ball of talent that is Marissa Rae Chaney? I initially found Marissa through a wedding giveaway on Instagram and even though I didn’t win, I ended up booking Marissa as my wedding photographer and flew her to California for my wedding because 1) I was instantly drawn to her warm, friendly personality and similar sense of humor and 2) have you SEEN her work???
From the start, Marissa was extremely organized, detailed, and punctual. She set up a full day photo schedule to work with my wedding coordinator’s, went over photo lists of must-capture moments, was great at communicating throughout the planning process and day of (she literally texts you back in 4 seconds without fail), and even included a dreamy sunset shoot for my new hubs and I the day after the wedding!
In the many months of planning my wedding, Marissa was always there ready to listen to any photo ideas I had for the wedding. She was my second opinion on all things wedding —including decor, flowers, and the many, many wedding and engagement dress options I sent her to rate. She was always there, ready to deliver solid advice and good laughs. Booking Marissa for my wedding got me so much more than just a wedding photographer, I found myself a new friend!
We got amazing sneak peaks back a few days after the wedding AND were surprised with our full wedding album within a week of the wedding!!! I was so blown away with her work ethic and quality throughout our time working with her. And we could not be more happy with how the photos turned out.
